Woodson Ultimate Wrestling’s year finished with a bang as it presented ‘End of Days’ from the Santa Rosa County Auditorium in Milton, Florida on December 19. The anticipation for the end of all things was immense, and the fans did not leave the Auditorium disappointed as blood was shed, titles were on the line, royal legacies were created, and Frost blanketed the world. ------------------------------------------------------------- RESULTS ------------------------------------------------------------- MINI-Tournament for Ultimate Wrestling Championship Bracket “A” “Canadian Superstar” Aeon Flexx vs. “The Former Sinner” Nick Virtue (C) 315 days. Nick Virtue has held the Ultimate Wrestling Championship through the dawning of an era, and well beyond. Some believe Nick Virtue is the chosen one to save us all, and to save an entire company from ####ation. Others feel Virtue was just a coward, doing anything and everything to keep his precious title. He has, however, stepped up to the plate each and every time he has had to defend the Championship, having never lost a match when the title was on the line. Aeon Flexx has been on a different path than Virtue. Flexx has tasted success in every promotion he has been in since the day he stepped foot in a wrestling ring. Multiple championships elsewhere, however, have not exactly transferred into gold in Ultimate. Both men would begin ‘End of Days’ with a chance to prove something: For Virtue, the chance to make believers out of thousands; for Flexx, the chance to finally be the man on top of the Gulf Coast Wrestling scene, for however brief a time it could possibly be. The two went hold for hold and punch for punch, but in the end it was Virtue hitting the “Drop D” on Flexx that sealed the ‘Canadian Superstar’s’ fate. Virtue once again retained his title, advancing to the main event finals to yet again defend, proving his dominance over all. Nick Virtue pinned Aeon Flexx to retain Ultimate Wrestling Championship (9:17) ------------------------------------------------------------- Career vs. “The Streak” The Black Wolf vs. “Story of the Year” Brian Caige The fans at Ultimate have been waiting for this night all year. It wasn’t the prospect of two of the fastest rising rookies on the Gulf Coast squaring off, but the prospect that on this night “The Streak” would finally be over. That meant no more bragging, no more talking, and finally a closing chapter to the “Story of the Year.” But this match was much, much more. It was the last chance at redemption for The Black Wolf. Never before has the Wolf been more determined to win his first match than this night. He knew that if he did not break “The Streak,” then his career would be over. For weeks now, Brian Caige has egged on the Wolf, even sabotaging his biggest chance to get his first win just two weeks ago with a pre-match attack that injured the ribs of Wolf. But there would not be any give to his will. Wolf was going to win this match. With a determined look in the eyes seen behind his mask, Wolf charged the ring and started brawling with Caige, wearing him down blow by blow. But Caige would find a way to take the upper hand, delivering a low blow when the referee’s view was obstructed. Caige quickly focused on the injured ribs of Wolf, repeatedly delivering educated kicks to his side and back. Wolf would fight back, however, hitting Caige with suplex after suplex, and scaled the ropes for a flying head butt. As Wolf leapt to crush Caige’s sternum, Caige moved, and quickly took over once again, nailing the “4 ½ Star Frog Splash,” which hit with such impact that many in the crowd gave the splash 5 stars. As Caige gathered his breath and covered Wolf for the pin, Wolf somehow got his foot on the bottom rope. Caige had had enough playing around, and went for a killshot, setting Wolf up for a superplex. Wolf once again fought back, however, and launched Caige halfway across the ring, and hit a splash of his own. Wolf went to seal the deal, hitting the Running Powerslam in the middle of the ring, and it seemed “The Streak” would finally be over, but not quite so as Caige kicked out just before the ref hit three. A bewildered Wolf went for another attack, whipping Caige into the corner, but was reversed, and his ribs went crashing into the turnbuckle. No sooner had Wolf hit the corner and made one step away, had Caige delivered a vicious spear that took not only the breath of Black Wolf, but of the entire crowd that watched helplessly as the ref counted to three, ending the career of The Black Wolf. Brian Caige pinned The Black Wolf (12:34) ------------------------------------------------------------- Non-title Interdivision Match X-Factor Champion Carlos D’Angelo vs. Cruiserweight Champion Maze vs. “The Evolution” Robyn Golphin Just two weeks after pinning Maze in a non-title match, Robyn Golphin had a chance to once again prove his worth on the Ultimate Wrestling roster as he tangled with the two most dominating Champions in their respective divisions: Maze and X-Factor Champion Carlos D’Angelo. Carlos is without a doubt the greatest fighting champion in Ultimate Wrestling history, and month by month Maze continues to show his dominance in the Cruiserweight Division, despite his setback two weeks ago against Golphin. Maze seemed to have a score to settle with Robyn, as he attacked the newcomer before the bell had even rung to start the match. As the two battled, Carlos looked on in a sort of amusement, until he decided to get in on the action. All three men battled valiantly, with neither able to take complete control. After minutes of high octane action, Maze was finally able to take control of Robyn, with Carlos incapacitated on the apron. But as “The Bruiserweight” set Golphin up for his “Bruise Your Face,” Robyn was able to slide off and hit the “D-Evolution” on Maze for the second time in as many matches. But before Robyn could capitalize and make the pin, Carlos came to, and hit Golphin with his Running Knee, and pinned the newcomer 1-2-3. X-Factor Champion Carlos D’Angelo pinned Robyn Golphin, def. Cruiserweight Champion Maze in Non-Title Triple Threat (8:52) ------------------------------------------------------------- Bourbon Street Brawl MR. Marcus Gibbs vs. “Party Gras” Justin Stone MR. Marcus Gibbs has a death wish. He wanted this Bourbon Street Brawl from the day he set his sights on his former mentor, Justin Stone. MR. Gibbs felt Stone was making a fool of himself, and Gibbs also wanted to show what happens when you don’t take things so seriously. For the second time in two weeks, the two did just what the match said they would do, as they brawled all over the building, using everything from STOP signs to crutches, to even a giant buffalo nickel. The fight went from post to pillar, corner to corner, and even spilled outside the building momentarily. Eventually the two made their way back into the ring, with Stone once again bloody from Gibbs’ ruthlessness. After setting up some chairs, Marcus suplexed Stone through all of the steel, leaving nothing but carnage in the ring. In a show of arrogance, Gibbs picked Stone up for one more move to finish him off, Stone was able to muster enough strength to pick up Marcus, and hit the “Party Valley Driver” on top of the tangled mess of steel chairs in the center of the ring, and picked up the pin, winning the brawl. Justin Stone pinned MR. Marcus Gibbs in Bourbon Street Brawl (17:22) ------------------------------------------------------------- MINI-Tournament for Ultimate Wrestling Championship Bracket “B” “Brutal” Joe Gibson vs. “Master of Devastation” Cameron Frost Bracket “B” for the Ultimate Wrestling Championship featured one of the newest, yet most intense, rivalries of 2009. Joe Gibson and Cameron Frost were just three seconds away from becoming Tag Team Champions not just once, but twice. It seemed the pressure of not becoming the first Grand Slam Champion became too much for Joe, as he turned on his friend, hitting him with the “Irish Wake.” With neither man holding a pinfall victory over the other one-on-one, this match seemed to be the most up-in-the-air match of the night. It really felt like either of these men could destroy the other, all in the name of championship gold. A flurry of reversals saw Frost dodge the “Wake” multiple times, as well as Gibson slipping out of the “OMEGA Crusher.” As Joe went for another “Irish Wake,” Frost was able to grip the arm of Gibson, a locked him into the "Queen City Stretch." As Joe struggled to free himself, and Cameron screamed out “TAP! TAP OUT! TAP OUT!” Gibson slowly started to fade. Senior Referee Frog Lane attempted to check on Joe, and called for the bell declaring a knockout, giving Cameron Frost the win and a date with destiny: one more shot at Nick Virtue and the Ultimate Wrestling Championship. Cameron Frost def. Joe Gibson via knockout (10:18) ------------------------------------------------------------- Deathrow vs. Turbo Ted Deathrow has been on a rampage through Ultimate Wrestling. He has annihilated every opponent he has been up against in the past few months: seriously injuring Johnny Rebel, destroying two students from the Ultimate Wrestling Training Academy, chokeslamming Brian Caige through a table; but nothing could compare to what happened at ‘End of Days’ when the Monster squared off with Turbo Ted. As the bell rang to start the match, Deathrow charged, delivered a big boot to the face of Ted, and pinned him 1-2-3. Of all the matches at ‘End of Days,’ this one especially will go down in history, as it was the shortest match in Ultimate Wrestling history. Deathrow pinned Turbo Ted (0:06) ------------------------------------------------------------- “I Respect You” Match “BTY” Colby Godwin vs. “Black Sheep” Bobby Doll (w/ Uncle Jim) “It’s all about respect.” Bobby Doll lives and breathes that phrase. Not through actions, but through preaching it. Bobby Doll has no respect for anyone, because he feels he doesn’t get any himself, especially from one, Colby Godwin. After weeks of the two verbally and physically assaulting the other, they met in an “I Respect You” Match. By the end of this night, it seemed that someone was going to have respect beaten into them. Bobby wasted no time to grab the official’s microphone, but before he could start on his rant, Colby attacked him, yelling on the mic “Shut up, Bobby!” The two engaged in what could only be deemed a complete war, and with Uncle Jim at ringside constantly looking for weapons to fuel the flame, complete chaos ensued. Neither man was willing to utter the words “I Respect You” to the other, but instead when asked by the ref, would add another verbal jab to his opponent. Just when it seemed that Colby was gaining the advantage, Uncle Jim became a key player yet again, delivering a low blow to Godwin. Referee Justin Sync saw this, and had finally had enough of Jim’s involvement, ejecting him from ringside. With ‘BTY’ down, Bobby was able to regain his bearings, and continued his assault on Colby. Doll grabbed a towel that he had brought out at the start of the match, and used it to choke Colby in a “Camel Clutch” position. With the referee right in front of a screaming Colby, he asked for the words once more. Suddenly, the words echoed through the speakers, “I RESPECT YOU, BOBBY DOLL! I RESPECT YOU!” But the voice that was heard was not of Colby Godwin. Apparently the referee had not been paying attention to the sound of the voices in this match, because the voice hear screaming “I respect you” was of Uncle Jim, who, after the match was declared over, emerged from the back to celebrate the ‘victory,’ still holding the microphone of ring announcer Curt Diamond in his hands. An irate ‘BTY’ was in shock, and went on a rampage from hell at the fact that he had just been screwed out of the match. Colby never said the words to Bobby Doll. And though the match will go down in history as a victory for Bobby Doll, the fans know that Colby Godwin is still ‘Better Than You.’ Bobby Doll def. Colby Godwin in “I Respect You” Match (14:12) ------------------------------------------------------------- Tag Team Championship Rematch “Pure” Doug Pitt & “Mr. USA” T.A. Jones (Former Champions) vs. The INVASION (C) For months Doug Pitt & T.A. Jones held the Ultimate Tag Team Championship with pride and honor. The duo made it through ‘Ecstasy of Gold’ to win the titles, and had continually defended them on every occasion. The prospect of mystery opponents at ‘Deck the Hall’ didn’t startle the ‘First Sons of Ultimate,’ who actually embraced the challenge. That mystery team was the INVASION, who took the titles from Jones & Pitt on December 5. With their automatic rematch invoked at ‘End of Days,’ Doug & T.A. knew this time what they were up against, and were ready to take back what was theirs. Their performance in the match showed that they were indeed ready to tangle with INVASION, as they answered every challenge thrown their way by the new champions from the beginning. A flurry of constant tags from both sides kept the action frantic, until INVASION had taken control and went for ‘Chicken & Biscuits’ to seal the deal. But Doug, who was the one being put in the move, saw what was coming, and slid out of harms way, sending Cruze crashing into Reiner. Doug quickly tagged in T.A., who charged with flying shoulder tackles on both men. With all four men brawling in the ring, it seemed that this Championship contest was becoming a real ‘shoot fight.’ Eventually Cruze was able to toss Jones from the ring, and Reiner quickly set Doug, who was not the legal man, up for another attempt at ‘Chicken & Biscuits.’ Cruze came down hard on Pitt, and the match was over just as shockingly as it was two weeks prior, with the INVASION walking out of Milton STILL the Ultimate Wrestling Tag Team Champions. The INVASION pinned Doug Pitt & T.A. Jones to retain Ultimate Wrestling Tag Team Championship (18: 44) ------------------------------------------------------------- Royal Four Match The annual Royal Four Match was as exciting a match as any fan could hope for. Fifteen men would battle to win the match, and get a shot at the Ultimate Wrestling Championship at anytime they wish. But first they would have to endure an over-the-top-rope elimination segment to make it into the Royal Four Match. The match began with four men, and a new superstar entered every 40 seconds. The final four men were declared the Royal Four, and all received automatic one-year contract extensions, as well as a shot at the Ultimate Wrestling Championship at some time in 2010. Order of entry: 1. X-Factor Champion Carlos D’Angelo 2. Cruiserweight Champion Maze 3. The Amish Assassin 4. ‘BTY’ Colby Godwin 5. Aeon Flexx 6. T.A. Jones 7. Cruze 8. Reiner 9. “Pure” Doug Pitt 10. The main event at ‘End of Days’ was nothing short of destiny. After months of feuding and fighting, trickery and devastation, Nick Virtue would have to defend the Ultimate Wrestling Championship one more time against Cameron Frost. The two gave their all into the match, with neither able to gain full momentum. Each knew what the other was capable of, and scouted every maneuver from the start. It would be “The Former Sinner” that would pull out his bag of tricks, however, when Cameron Frost came charging for a splash in the corner. Just before impact, Virtue dodged out of harms way, but dragged referee Frog Lane directly into it. With Lane down, Virtue went to the back and grabbed a steel chair. As Frost was attempting to revive the fallen ref, Virtue attacked, hitting Frost with the chair. Virtue then laid the chair in the unconscious hand of Frost, and lay down in the ring in an attempt to cause a disqualification. As both men lay motionless in the ring, Frog Lane came to, saw the sight before him, but decided not to stop the match on an assumption. For this match to end, he would have to see everything. The two combatants slowly rose to their feet and continued to trade blows. Finally, Frost was able to take advantage of a Virtue miscue, and hit the ‘OMEGA Crusher.’ But somehow Virtue kicked out, and the match continued. A dazed Virtue slipped up again, and Frost set up for one more ‘OMEGA Crusher,’ this time with such an impact that later revelations showed broke a board under the ring. There would be no denying destiny on this night, as Frog Lane counted to three, and 315 days became the footnote. After the match, Nick Virtue stood still clutching the Championship Belt, but in the end showed his true colors, handing the belt over to Frost, with a congratulatory hug. No sooner had Virtue exited, had Deathrow emerged, holding his Royal Four briefcase, reminding Frost that he was a marked man. But this night belonged to Cameron Frost, as several superstars emerged from the back to congratulate the new Champion of the land, lifting him high on their shoulders, ringing in the end of the year, and the beginning of the Reign of Devastation. Cameron Frost pinned Nick Virtue to become NEW Ultimate Wrestling Champion (9:19) ------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- Ultimate Wrestling presents ‘New Blood’ LIVE Saturday January 2, 2010 from the American Legion Post #33 in Pensacola, FL.
