Woodson Ultimate Wrestling returned to the Santa Rosa County Auditorium in Milton, FL for its' Halloween extravaganza, 'Heads Will Roll II.' The fans were excited to see the return of Ultimate in its' first show in the Auditorium since the monumental 'Ecstasy of Gold' Tournament that crowned T.A. Jones and "Pure" Doug Pitt as the Ultimate Tag Team Champions. --------------------------------------- RESULTS --------------------------------------- "The Bruiserweight" Maze def. Robin Golphin, Johnny Rebel and Jet Angel in a tag format scramble match to retain Ultimate Cruiserweight Championship Maze is the greatest Cruiserweight Champion in Ultimate Wrestling history. That's not just his opinion, but possibly fact. "The Bruiserweight" has reigned as ruler of the division since March, and is the only two-time champion in not just the history of the Ultimate Cruiserweight division, but is in fact the only man to hold a championship twice in Ultimate Wrestling history. Many blame the lack of depth and talent in the Cruiserweight division, especially as of late. But in a special scramble match for the Cruiserweight Championship, Ultimate Wrestling GM Diana Drake-Hearse showed her commitmit to making sure the best of the best are challenging for titles. Enter Jet Angel, who after a hugely impressive debut in a similar scramble match, was named Number One Contender for, and nearly became, Cruiserweight Champion. Although most wouldn't consider Johnny Rebel a Cruiserweight, he is just looking for competition, and just barely made the official 220 pound cut-off to be involved in a cruiserweight competition. Most people around the Ultimate lockerroom think he was able to do this not by motivation, but from sweating. Halloween is a scary time for Johnny Rebel: he's terrified of ghosts. Mrs. Drake-Hearse also felt like a fresh face would make for a great title match, and signed Carolina sensation Robin Golphin to a short-term contract. Golphin looked to make the same sort of debut that Jet Angel was able to make just a few months ago, and catch lightening in a bottle to become Cruiserweight Champion. All four men sacrificed their bodies in an impressive display of ariel prowess, but in the end it was Maze hitting the "Bruise Your Face" on Robin Golphin to pickup the win and retain his championsip yet again. Is Maze in fact the greatest Cruiserweight Champion of all time as he claims? Or will someone finally be able to knock off the King of the Cruiserweights? --------------------------------------- Turbo Ted def. "Party Gras" Justin Stone Following the scramble match, as Jet Angel was still recovering inside the ring, Turbo Ted came and attacked Jet from behind. In Pensacola at 'Bad Moon Rising,' Ted was disqualified and subsequently fined for not releasing the Indian Deathlock he had applied. Many felt that this was just finishing what he wanted to do on October 3, but someone took exception. That someone was Justin Stone, who rushed the ring to the aid of Jet, causing Ted to flea the ring. As the two exchanged verbal aggression, an impromptu match ended up taking place as a referee was called upon and the bell was rung. As Stone looked to seal the victory away with a "Party Valley Driver," however, MR. Marcus Gibbs came out and distracted Stone, causing enough of a distraction to allow Ted to roll up Stone for the pin. No word on the motivation of MR. Gibbs for this instigation, but this reporter will be looking into any details possible in the near future. On the matter of Turbo Ted, Ultimate Management has fined Ted yet again, and has also threatened suspension for any future attacks like before. --------------------------------------- "Story of the Year" Brian Caige def. "Superstar" Aeon Flexx Brian Caige is ####y. He's extremely ####y. But he also has a right to be ####y. That's because Brian Caige has never been pinned or submitted in his entire professional career. He calls himself the "Poster Child" of Ultimate Wrestling, refering to his very rare exclusivity contract with Ultimate Wrestling. But some critics point out that although he has been successful in his career, his actual wins have not been as impressive. Although he has faced the likes of Deathrow, Joe Gibson, Cameron Frost, and even X-Factor Champion Carlos D'Angelo and survived, he hasn't exactly beaten them either. Aeon Flexx was on top of the world going into 'Ecstasy of Gold.' He had just manhandled one of the true legends of the Gulf Coast in Bobby Doll, and was named Number One Contender for the Heavyweight Championship. But all of that came crashing down when an oversight by Senior Official Frog Lane cost Flexx the Heavyweight Championship at 'Bad Moon Rising,' as Nick Virtue was able to, without the referee seeing, use the ropes for leverage and pin Flexx to retain his title. Virtue had claimed afterwards that he was "through with Flexx." Although after review Ultimate Management agreed that a mistake was made, they have stood by the referee's decision. C.E.O. Alexander Hearse III was quoted as saying "we have the best officials around, and we feel that second guessing them---especially our most senior official--would be far too detrimental to our brand and product." Needless to say, the "Canadian Superstar" was in need of a quasi-resurrection. This brings him to "the streak." In the match, Caige used everything he could to gain an advantage, but time after time he found himself at the mercy of one of the premier submission artists on the Gulf Coast. Although both Caige and Flexx are masters of the Sharpshooter, Aeon has had much more time to hone and perfect his variation of the deadliest move to ever come from Canada. After a grueling match that saw both men give their all, Flexx was able to lock on the Sharpshooter, and it seemed that this time there would be no escape for Caige. But just as it seemed the final chapter of the "Story of the Year" had been written, Flexx released the hold and raised his arms towards the sky. As Frog Lane checked intently on Caige for a submission, Brian screamed in agony a resounding "no" time and time again. But unbeknownst to Frog, Caige was indeed tapping out, or so it seemed, on Flexx's leg. This, in turn, caused Flexx to believe he had done the impossible and not just beat the rookie, but made him quit. As he raised his hands, Frog quickly lowered them, telling Flexx that he never saw a tap-out and that the match was not over. As Flexx pleaded his case to Frog, Caige was able to deliver a low blow and quick school-boy roll up, pinning Flexx with an extra hook of the tights. A stunned crowd jeered as loud as ever when Caige grabbed a microphone and climbed back into the ring with Flexx to make a daring statement. Caige told Flexx that now that he had beaten him, Flexx should respect him and shake his hand. As Aeon battled with this ultimatum, Caige continually berrated him, saying that Flexx should shake his hand. But Flexx had another idea. He instead hit Caige with his "Elevator DDT," and then shook hands with an unconscious "Story of the Year." --------------------------------------- Deathrow def. The Black Wolf Deathrow has not been seen since 'Ecstasy of Gold' on September 12. Probably for the better, as the few who have seen the monster in recent weeks has not been found in one piece. Deathrow is a monster, plain and simple. And unfortunately for one individual, this monster has been his to slay. The Black Wolf has gained a cultlike following in recent months. Although the rookie has shown tremendous improvement since his debut in January, he has still yet to pick up a victory. One reason for that is he has drawn Deathrow's name for what is now a third time in ten months. And although The Black Wolf is a much better wrestler than he was the previous two times, he hasn't faced the wrath that he would face on this night. Due to the graphic nature of this match, specifics cannot be given, but what can be said is that Deathrow defeated the rookie quickly and easily after a "Lethal Injection," a devastating powerbomb/elbow drop combonation. --------------------------------------- "The Ultimate Legend" Bobby Doll w/ Uncle Jim def. "BTY" Colby Godwin Colby Godwin made an impressive debut defeating The Black Wolf on October 3. So impressive, in fact, that GM Diana Drake-Hearse decided to name him Number One Contender for the X-Factor Championship. But someone felt like Colby had not done enough to earn that title shot. Bobby Doll has a real problem with Mrs. Drake-Hearse, and took great exception to the fact that she awarded a title shot to an "undeserving" candidate and did everything in her power to keep the true "Ultimate Legend" from regaining his rightful title. And, astonishingly, the GM agreed. She also felt that Bobby was not well recieved in Milton, so she offered him a deal. If Bobby could beat "BTY," then Colby would have to start at the bottom of the contendership ladder like everyone else. But if Colby were to win, not only would he have earned his title match, but Bobby Doll would have to leave Milton forever. Bobby reluctantly agreed, and the career of a lifetime was seemingly on the line for what he holds most dear to him...RESPECT. The contrasting styles of Colby and Doll created quite a delima on the part of both combatants, as neither was ever able to mount a lasting advantage. As Colby was finally able to ground Bobby enough to try a high-risk maneuver from the top rope, Uncle Jim bumped the ropes from the outside, causing "BTY" to land in a painful position straddling the top rope. As he collapsed to the mat in pain, Bobby took full advantage and covered Colby for the pin. Bobby felt he had done his job, and showed "BTY" who was the "best wrestler today." --------------------------------------- T.A. Jones & "Pure" Doug Pitt def. The Masters of Brutality (Joe Gibson & Cameron Frost) to retain Ultimate Tag Team Championship In what could possibly have been the biggest rematch in Ultimate Wrestling history, it was proven that truly anything can happen for the right superstar at the right time. Joe Gibson is one title shy of being the first and only Grand Slam Champion in Ultimate Wrestling history. Cameron Frost has established himself over the past year as one of the greatest competitors not only in Ultimate, but the entire Southeast. Doug Pitt has also established himself as a great pure athlete and, along with "Ultimate Wrestling's First Son," has held the same gold that was once held by a true legend of the industry. With all the talent involved in this matchup, it's a no wonder that it has already caught the attention of many of the sports most rabid fans. Just as in the previous encounter, the Masters showed their veteran savvy, one upping Doug and T.A. at every turn with combonations and double-teams that left the youngsters staggering. Finally, a second wind from a battered Doug Pitt allowed him to tag in Jones, who unleashed hell on both Frost and Gibson, but it would not last. But a very veteran move from a very young Doug Pitt saved the day for the duo. As it seemed the tide was about to swing back into the favor of the M.o.B., Doug made a blind tag to make himself the legal man just moments before Jones and the illegal opponent, Frost, went tumbling to the outside. As Joe was distracted by the happening outside the ring, Doug pumped himself up to deliver the "Super Power Ranger Kick" to his former mentor, and connected square in the jaw of Gibson. But this merely staggered the bohemoth, and Doug reared back and delivered yet another superkick, which again only staggered Joe. Doug then wound up and put every last bit of strength he had into one more superkick, which finally took Joe out, and then collapsed in exhaustion over Gibson for the pin. As Doug and T.A. celebrated their victory outside the ring, it seemed that Joe was upset with his partner for not saving him. A verbal confrontation led to a tussle that was quickly broken up by the champions, and it seemed that cooler heads would prevail. But after an impromptu curtain call for all four combatants, and the champions had left for the lockerroom, Joe and Frost took one last moment to thank their fans. And then Joe unleashed the most vicious "Irish Wake" ever seen on Frost. As Cameron lay motionless on the mat, Joe grabbed the microphone and stated that Frost had failed him in having his back not just once at 'Ecstasy of Gold,' but again on this night. He went on to say that this had awakened the "old Joe. The one that doesn't need anyone to watch his back...Come November 7, you'll see exactly why they call me "Brutal" Joe Gibson." --------------------------------------- "The Former Sinner" Nick Virtue def. X-Factor Champion "The Feature" Carlos D'Angelo to retain Ultimate Wrestling Championship There's no doubt that Carlos D'Angelo is a fighting champion. He has taken challenges and made a few of his own. Lately, he's been in more of a challenging mood. This was made perfectly clear when he decided to challenge Nick Virtue for the Ultimate Wrestling Championship, with the possibility of becoming the top man in all of Ultimate Wrestling by simultaneously holding the top two singles titles. Virtue has been Champion for longer than anyone else in the history of Ultimate; an astonishing 259 days. He has found ways to keep his title regardless of circumstance or stipulations. He has taken the easy road, but has also gone toe-to-toe in some of the most grueling matches in Ultimate history, and still walked away champion. His latest tactic was one taken out of the playbook of many that have come before him, as he simply out smarted not only his opponent, but the official as well. But Ultimate Management has decided enough was enough and assigned a special outside enforcer to ensure that there were no ways for Virtue to squirm his way out again. That enforcer turned out to be the former Number One Contender--Aeon Flexx. As Flexx took his place at ringside, an irate Virtue grabbed the microphone and told Senior Offical Frog Lane that if Flexx lay a single hand on Virtue that the match been thrown out and declared void. Everyone involved in the match agreed, and the title was up for grabs. Virtue played his usual mind games throughout the match, but Carlos did what he does best as well: wrestle. During the match, Frog Lane was knocked out, and as Carlos and Flexx checked to make sure he was ok, Nick attempted to hit D'Angelo with the Championship belt. Thankfully, Aeon Flexx saw this happening, and took the belt from Nick Virtue as Frog Lane was stirring. Virtue, realizing he was outnumbered, dropped to the mat and clutched his head screaming in pain. As Frog got to his feet, he saw Virtue laying on the mat, and the belt in Flexx's hand, and called for the disqualification. As Lane raised the hand of "The Former Sinner," Virtue grabbed his title belt and quickly fled, not even taking the effort to continue faking his "pain." Although Virtue yet again kept his title, Carlos declared that he didn't want a rematch, but instead would be in the corner of his "best friend" at 'Indestructable' on November 7 in Pensacola. Flexx thanked D'Angelo for his support, and vowed that after 'Indestructable,' he would be the new Ultimate Wrestling Champion. --------------------------------------- Ultimate Wrestling presents 'Indestructable' LIVE November 7, 2009 at the American Legion Post 33 in Pensacola, Florida at 7pm.
