| Results from Ultimate Wrestling's 'Bad Moon Rising' IP: 68.101.17.196 Posted on 10/5/2009 at 05:23:43 PM by B.M. Woodson Ultimate Wrestling returned to an electrified crowd at the American Legion Post 33 in Pensacola, FL for ‘Bad Moon Rising’ Coming off the heels of an amazing ‘Ecstasy of Gold’ Tournament that crowned T.A. Jones and Doug Pitt as the new Tag Team Champions, the rest of the Ultimate roster looked primed and ready to make statements of their own. --------------------------- ***RESULTS*** --------------------------- **“BTY” Colby Godwin def. The Black Wolf** Colby Godwin is better than you. And so far he has proven that he is better than just about anyone else on the entire Gulf Coast, winning matches and championships in various promotions all over. He made his much anticipated return to Ultimate Wrestling at ‘Bad Moon Rising,’ squaring off against the winless Black Wolf. “BTY” saw this match as a warm up and welcome into the Ultimate family, but the Wolf saw this as his chance to make a statement and pick up the first win of his career. It was not to be, however, as the rookie took a devastating chokeslam from Colby, and once again fell short of his hearts desire. --------------------------------------------------------------------- **Jet Angel def. Turbo Ted via disqualification** Jet Angel has wowed the fans and staff of Ultimate Wrestling with his high flying abilities and his great military discipline that he has brought to the Ultimate locker room. Unfortunately, due to his naval obligations, he was not able to compete in ‘Ecstasy of Gold.’ But that didn’t stop him from returning to Pensacola to square off with the self-proclaimed “Meanest Man in Milton.” Ted is not known for any kind of agility or speed. He’s simply known to just punch you square in the face. Ted’s approach to facing the airborne tactics of Jet was simple—just ground-and-pound the U.S. Navy’s finest. It seemed to work for a moment, as Ted was able to lock on an Indian Deathlock. Jet was able to barely get to the ropes, breaking the submission. But Ted kept the pressure applied, and was disqualified after the referee gave the five-count, thus giving the win to Jet Angel. No word yet on if any disciplinary action will be taken against Ted. --------------------------------------------------------------------- **MR. Marcus Gibbs def. “Party Gras” Justin Stone via submission** Justin Stone has been on a roll as of late. Although he didn’t win ‘Ecstasy of Gold,’ he DID get the biggest luck of the draw possible, getting Deathrow as a partner. But all that tag-team action was thrown out the window when the “Ultimate Party Guy” met up with his former protégé, now known as MR. Gibbs. Marcus has talked a lot recently about how he’s not in this to please the people anymore, and that all he cares about is pleasing his “African Princess.” Although nobody has ever seen the Princess, Marcus has assured everyone that she’s the real deal, and that she is the driving motivational support behind his recent success. MR. Gibbs has also vowed that he will reach gold once again in Ultimate, because the Princess deserves nothing but the finest gold that Ultimate has to offer. This newfound aggressive passion for her was shown in Marcus’ wrestling against Stone, as he was able to lock on his newest weapon, the “Sandman Clutch,” causing Justin to submit. --------------------------------------------------------------------- **“The Feature” Carlos D’Angelo def. “Story of the Year” Brian Caige via count-out to retain Ultimate Wrestling X-Factor Championship** Brian Caige has been making a lot of noise lately. Not only is he quick to point out to anyone in earshot about his streak, the fact that he’s never been pinned or submitted in his entire wrestling career, and his newest accolade of a very lucrative exclusivity clause in his contract, but he is also quick to tell anyone and everyone about how he deserves a shot at a championship. His record speaks louder than he does, and Carlos D’Angelo has taken notice. Carlos came out for his “Feature Presentation” and stated that everyone knows him as a “fighting champion.” And the one thing a fighting champion doesn’ t do is wait around for number one contenders to be named. So Carlos called out the “A-Lister” and told him that “as much as I like being champion…I want to pin you or submit you. So tonight, it’s my belt against your streak.” The action was fast paced and full of explosive slams and great technical skill from both men. It seemed that Caige would seal the deal when he hit “The Feature” with an explosive spear, and followed with attempting for his “4 ½ Star Frog Splash,” but Carlos was able to muster enough strength to roll out of the way. Later, Caige went for another spear, but Carlos was able to dodge this time, and Brian’s head went crashing into the middle turnbuckle. Dazed, Caige stumbled around, when D’Angelo hit him with a running knee, which usually sets up his STO for the pin, but this time Caige toppled over the top rope and to the floor, hitting his head on the guard railing. As Sr. Official Frog Lane proceeded with the ten-count, Carlos begged and pleaded for Caige to get up and get in the ring. But as much as he tried, Caige could not get to his feet fast enough, or even at all without support, and was counted out. A frustrated Carlos left still champion, but without the satisfaction of being the one to end the streak of the “Story of the Year.” --------------------------------------------------------------------- **Tag Team Champion “Mr. U.S.A.” T.A. Jones def. “Black Sheep” Bobby Doll** T.A. Jones has taken everyone he has faced to the limit in recent months. And although he didn’t pick up the wins at that moment, he got everything he deserved at ‘Ecstasy of Gold’ when he and “Pure” Doug Pitt captured the Tag Team Championship. Although Doug could not be at ‘Bad Moon Rising’ due to undisclosed reasons, GM Diana Drake-Hearse came out to officially congratulate both of them, and specifically “Ultimate Wrestling’s First Son” for his success. But someone had a problem with all of this, and it was the same person who has a problem with a woman running the show. That person is “Black Sheep” Bobby Doll. Bobby interrupted T.A. addressing the passionate crowd, saying that although he was happy for Jones, T.A. and Doug would have never won the belts if they weren’t stripped from him in the first place. So Bobby laid down a challenge to Jones, confident that although the “Black Sheep” had taught him everything that T.A. knew, he had NOT taught him everything Bobby knew. As Bobby punished Jones for what seemed like an eternity, T.A. was able to muster enough strength to roll up Doll when he was not expecting, and the new Tag Team Champion pinned the former Champion, seemingly ending the thought that Bobby had never been beaten for the titles. --------------------------------------------------------------------- **The Masters of Brutality (“Brutal” Joe Gibson and “Master of Devastation” Cameron Frost def. Johnny Rebel and Cruiserweight Champion “The Bruiserweight” Maze** Although a lot of praise has been put on Doug Pitt and T.A. Jones for winning the Tag Team Championship at ‘Ecstasy of Gold,’ not as much praise has been given to the team they beat in the finals: Joe Gibson and Cameron Frost. The Masters of Brutality as the like to call themselves are a formidable team, and individually two of the biggest stars in Ultimate Wrestling history. Both men have held singles gold, and Joe is close to becoming the first ever Ultimate Grand Slam Champion. The Masters seemingly are the number one contenders for the Tag Team titles, but needed a proving ground to get another shot. UW Management searched for someone to contend with Joe and Cameron, and the only person willing enough was Cruiserweight Champion Maze. “The Bruiserweight” came out, telling the Masters that he was better than both of them, and that he would beat them and go take the Tag titles from Jones and Pitt. But the partner he was given to contend might have caused that plan to fail, as Johnny Rebel came out, elated to be teaming with Maze. Rebel said to his partner, “you’re the ‘Bruiserweight?’ Well I like to have a few brewski’s myself! We’re gonna get along just fine.’ But Maze did NOT get along with his new partner, and it showed. Rebel was punished by the motivated M.o.B., and was hit with every brutally devastating move in their arsenal, before finally being hit with Joe’s “Irish Wake” for the pin. This proved without a shadow of doubt that the M.o.B. are the Number One Contenders for the Tag Team Championship, and a match has been set up at ‘Heads Will Roll II’ for the titles. --------------------------------------------------------------------- **"The Former Sinner” Nick Virtue def. “Superstar” Aeon Flexx to retain Ultimate Wrestling Heavyweight Championship** Everyone is wondering how long Nick Virtue can keep it up. He has held the UW Heavyweight crown for almost a year, clearly the longest title reign in Ultimate history. Aeon Flexx has been champion in virtually every promotion he has worked for, and now that he is Number 1 Contender for the top prize in Ultimate, he has “The Former Sinner” in his sights. Flexx decided that ‘Bad Moon Rising’ would be a perfect opportunity to cash in his title shot, and the two men squared off in the ring for the main event. The champion and challenger gave everything they had, but as Flexx went to perform a sunset flip from the apron to inside the ring, Virtue was able to hold on to the ropes, sitting down on the shoulders of Flexx and pinning him with the added pressure of the ropes as an aid. Virtue may have walked away holding onto his gold this time, but what lies ahead for the champion may be too much to overcome. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Ultimate Wrestling presents ‘Heads Will Roll II’ on Saturday, October 24 at the Santa Rosa County Auditorium in Milton, FL. Nick Virtue (Heavyweight Champion) (Prev. Rank: 3) Nick Virtue has been the Ultimate Wrestling Heavyweight Champion for close to an entire year. He is easily the longest reigning champion in Ultimate Wrestling history, and keeps finding new ways to keep his title. ‘Bad Moon Rising’ was no exception to this, as he was able to beat Aeon Flexx to retain the title. Recent Action: 4-1 in last 5 singles matches ---------------------------------------------- 2. Masters of Brutality (Prev.: N/A; Gibson 2, Frost 5) Joe Gibson is one step away from becoming the first ever Ultimate Grand Slam Champion. He and Cameron Frost have established themselves as not just two of the greatest competitors in Ultimate Wrestling history in singles competition, but now in tag team action as well. Claiming the number one contendership for the Tag Team Titles has solidified their unity, thus allowing the duo to be ranked together for this weeks’ Power 5. Recent Action: 3-1 as team, Number One Contenders for Tag Team Championship ---------------------------------------------- 3. T.A. Jones (Tag Team Champion) (Prev.: N/A; w/ Doug Pitt, 1) Not having his partner with him at ‘Bad Moon Rising’ may have hurt the team in the Power 5, but scoring a pinfall victory over Bobby Doll gives a huge boost to “Mr. U.S.A.” and his singles credentials. Recent Action: ½ of Tag Team Champions, pinned former Tag Champion Bobby Doll in singles match ---------------------------------------------- 4. Carlos D’Angelo (X-Factor Champion) (Prev.: N/A) Carlos D’Angelo has been a fighting champion from the day he won the X-Factor title. He may have failed to end the streak of Brian Caige at ‘Bad Moon Rising,’ but his successful title defense gets him on the Power 5 nonetheless. Recent Action: defended title against Michael Patrick, Marcus Gibbs, and Brian Caige in recent defenses ---------------------------------------------- 5. Marcus Gibbs (Prev.: N/A) MR. Gibbs made a statement at ‘Bad Moon Rising’ for not only himself, but his “African Princess.” He has vowed that he will soon win gold for his Princess, and started the road to earning it by making Justin Stone submit to the “Sandman Clutch.” Recent Action: 2-2 in singles competition, submitted Justin Stone ---------------------------------------------- Dropped from list: Doug Pitt (w/ T.A. Jones, 1) Aeon Flexx (4) ---------------------------------------------- Who to watch ---------------------------------------------- Deathrow Nobody has seen or heard from the monster since ‘Ecstasy of Gold,’ and almost everyone is afraid of what he may unleash the next time he is seen in an Ultimate ring. ---------------------------------------------- “Pure” Doug Pitt Doug was missing in action at ‘Bad Moon Rising,’ but that doesn’t mean that anyone should could the youngster out of contention for the Power 5. He is, after all, a champion. ---------------------------------------------- “BTY” Colby Godwin Colby Godwin looked impressive in his return to Ultimate, and is possibly one big win away from cracking the Power 5. Just one of the perks of being “Better Than You.” |
