Ultimate Wrestling held its’ long anticipated ‘Ecstasy of Gold’ Tournament at the Santa Rosa
County Auditorium in Milton, Florida on September 12.
The fans were ecstatic to see 16 of their favorite Ultimate Superstars competing for the
coveted and vacated Ultimate Wrestling Tag Team Championship in a Lethal Lottery Format.
History was made yet again in the building that held the likes of the ‘Backyard Brawl’ of
PWA fame, and many other classic shows.
A mere minutes before the National Anthem, names were drawn in secret by UW General
Manager Diana Drake-Hearse and CEO Alexander Hearse III

RESULTS

FIRST ROUND

-------------------------------------------------------------
Turbo Ted & Johnny Rebel vs. ‘Party Gras’ Justin Stone & Deathrow

The first name drawn for ‘Ecstasy of Gold’ was none other than the self proclaimed
‘Meanest Man in Milton.’ He was paired with newcomer Johnny Rebel, who had come to
contractual terms with Ultimate Wrestling less than 24 hours prior to ‘Ecstasy of Gold,’
making him eligible for the tournament. They were matched up against ‘Party Gras’ Justin
Stone, who was 2-0 in ‘Ecstasy of Gold’ preview matches, scoring pinfall victories with his
‘Party Valley Driver’ in both matches. Stone’s party had just begun, when his partner was
announced to be none other than Deathrow. A jubilant Stone jumped for joy at this
revelation, and his energy carried over into the match, as after an onslaught by Deathrow
against both Ted and Rebel, Stone was able to hit the ‘PVD’ on Rebel to pick up the pin and
advance into the semi-finals.
-------------------------------------------------------------
‘Mr. USA’ T.A. Jones & ‘Pure’ Doug Pitt vs. Aeon Flexx & UW Heavyweight Champion, ‘The
Former Sinner’ Nick Virtue

The second match in the opening round featured two up-and-coming superstars battling
two seasoned mat veterans, who have both earned their share of gold. It was a unique
pairing on both sides, as Heavyweight Champion Nick Virtue was teamed with the current
Number 1 Contender for his title, meanwhile the opposition was composed of the only
winners of the ‘Rookie of the Year’ title in Ultimate Wrestling history, with Jones winning
the accolade in 2007, and Pitt in 2008. The tension between champion and challenger soon
overcame Virtue and Flexx, as a minor tactical error turned into a full on verbal and physical
assault amongst the teammates outside of the ring. While a vulnerable and defeated Jones
and Pitt lay in the ring, Virtue and Flexx continued their shoving match as the referee gave
the ten-count, thus awarding the match to T.A. and Doug, advancing them to the semi-
finals against team Stone/Deathrow.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Ultimate Wrestling Cruiserweight Champion ‘The Bruiserweight’ Maze & UW X-Factor
Champion Carlos D’Angelo vs. ‘Black Sheep’ Bobby Doll & The Black Wolf

The intrigue of the Lethal Lottery format showed itself yet again, as both the Cruiserweight
Champion AND X-Factor Champion were teamed up in pursuit of Tag Team glory. Both
were looking to become the first men to hold two titles simultaneously in Ultimate Wrestling
history. But a shocking opponent was thrown in their paths, as a recently injured Bobby
Doll was drawn to face the duo. Bobby grabbed the microphone and berated CEO
Alexander Hearse III and GM Diana Drake-Hearse for holding a tournament for titles he
“never lost in the first place.” Bobby was determined to win back what he felt was
rightfully his, and was clearly an odds on favorite. His path to glory was wrecked, however,
with the revelation of his tag partner—the winless Black Wolf. Bobby pleaded that the Wolf
go back to the locker room, and that he would just do it himself. But an eager Wolf did not
back down, and was determined to gain gold with the Gulf Coast legend. It was not to be,
however, as the Wolf never even got to tag Bobby into the match, being hit with Maze’s
‘Bruise Your Face’ and pinned by the legal man, Carlos. The victorious team seemed to have
a blatant problem with one another, but was still able to win the match and advance to the
semi-final.
-------------------------------------------------------------
‘Story of the Year’ Brian Caige & ‘MR.’ Marcus Gibbs vs. ‘The Master of Devastation’
Cameron Frost & ‘Brutal’ Joe Gibson

Brian Caige has been unpinned and unbeaten in one-on-one matches in his wrestling
career. Marcus Gibbs has just come off a grueling duel for the X-Factor Championship. Both
have proven themselves in one-on-one competition, and looked at ‘Ecstasy of Gold’ as
proof that they were both great all-around competitors. Things did not look too good for
them, however, as they were faced off against a former UW Heavyweight Champion, and
the man that almost won the title just one week ago. Talent was abundant in this matchup,
with a quickening pace that never seemed to slow over the course of the match. After a
great back and forth match, Joe was able to hit the ‘Irish Wake’ on MR. Gibbs, while a
nearly incapacitated Caige unsuccessfully attempted to break up the pin. Gibson and Frost
seemed to be odds on favorites now that the pairings were drawn, and they looked ahead
to their matchup against Maze and Carlos D’Angelo in the semi-finals.

SEMI-FINALS

-------------------------------------------------------------
‘Mr. USA’ T.A. Jones & ‘Pure’ Doug Pitt vs. ‘Party Gras’ Justin Stone & Deathrow

The luck of T.A. Jones and Doug Pitt, along with a bit of chemistry, propelled them into the
semi-finals of ‘Ecstasy of Gold.’ Meanwhile, the unconventional duo of Justin Stone and
Deathrow sealed a victory in round one, and looked seemingly unstoppable. A little
####iness and early celebrating on the part of Stone sealed the fate of the unlikely team,
as Pitt was able to roll up Stone for the pin. Afterwards, an irate Deathrow destroyed all
three men in the ring, storming off, likely looking for another victim.
-------------------------------------------------------------
‘The Bruiserweight’ Maze & ‘The Feature’ Carlos D’Angelo vs. ‘The Master of Devastation’
Cameron Frost & ‘Brutal’ Joe Gibson

Six championships in Ultimate Wrestling. That is what entered the ring in the second semi-
final match between Maze and Carlos D’Angelo against Cameron Frost and Joe Gibson.
Both Maze and Gibson are multiple time champions, while D’Angelo and Frost have each
held the X-Factor title once in their Ultimate careers. Only one team, however, could
emerge to fight for more gold. In the end, the personal rivalry between Maze and Carlos
got the best of them, as Frost was able to hit Maze with his ‘Omega Crusher’ and Carlos did
not even attempt to break up the pin. Frost and Gibson advanced to the finals, to face the
young team of T.A. Jones and Doug Pitt.

FINALS

-------------------------------------------------------------
‘Mr. USA’ T.A. Jones & ‘Pure’ Doug Pitt vs. ‘The Master of Devastation’ Cameron Frost &
‘Brutal’ Joe Gibson

The titles looked to be in the bag for Joe Gibson and Cameron Frost. A severely injured
opponent; a seemingly easy path to the finals; this was looking too easy. It seemed even
that Doug Pitt and T.A. Jones had conceded defeat. But then something happened. A beast
was awakened in Jones and Pitt. Fighting back from everything that was thrown their way,
fighting through possibly the most excruciating pain in their lives, they gave their all. They
relied on each other, and nothing was more eminent than how the match ended. As Joe
went to hit the ‘Irish Wake’ on Jones, Doug rushed to push T.A. out of harms way, taking
the ‘Wake’ instead. As Gibson looked down at the fallen competitor, Jones capitalized,
locking in the ‘BBL Clutch,’ and after a minute or two struggling to make Joe submit, led it
into his ‘BBL Slam’ and pinned Gibson for the 1-2-3. The crowd erupted with chants of
“USA! USA!” as Doug and T.A. looked at each other in amazement. Their dreams had been
fulfilled, their sacrifices made well worth it, as they were presented with the Ultimate
Wrestling Tag Team Championship belts. The celebration would seemingly never end, as
several superstars rushed the ring to congratulate the pair, and CEO Alexander Hearse III
also entered the ring to raise the hands of the most successful students to ever come from
the Ultimate Wrestling Training Academy.
