| Ecstasy of Gold: Competitor Rundow Part 3 IP: 24.254.113.51 Posted on 9/2/2009 at 09:05:44 PM by Ultimate Wrestling News and Rumors "Brutal" Joe Gibson Title History: Ultimate Wrestling Heavyweight Champion Ultimate Wrestling X-Factor (Southern) Champion CSW Tag Team Champion "Brutal" Joe Gibson prides himself on being the Ultimate Wrestling "company guy." Joe is one championship away from being the first ever Grand Slam Champion. If Joe wins the Tag Team Championship, he'll be the first man to hold the Heavyweight Title, the X-Factor (Southern) Title and the Tag Team Titles. Joe is very focused on his current blood feud with Deathrow, but those who know Joe, know that he loves a challenge. Deathrow is one major hurdle. If Joe beats Deathrow in a dog collar match on September 5th, he will be going into the Ecstasy of Gold tournament with a huge amount of momentum. Joe has also proven that he can work with "less desirable" wrestlers. He was a member of the Hellfire Club after all. Joe has the talent, the versatility and the desire. Will he have the momentum? If Joe gets paired up with a top UW star, look for Joe to go VERY far in this one night tournament. Chance of winning based on percent: 85% "The Bruiserweight" Maze Title History: Two Time Ultimate Wrestling Cruiserweight Champion Three time PWA Tag Team Champion IWC Tag Team Champion Maze doesn't get enough respect. Maze is the only two time single title holder in UW. He is a decorated tag team wrestler, yet he is STILL hated by the fans. Although his long time partner is currently not on the active Ultimate Wrestling roster, Maze has still found success in the singles division. Maze is looking to repeat history on September 12th in Milton, Florida. It was just 7 years ago that Maze and his partner had the 2002 match of the year against The Backyard Boyz of Vortex (currently Heavyweight Champion, Nick Virtue) and Iceberg. There is no doubt in anyone's mind that Maze is one of the best tag wrestlers on the coast. If he is able to defeat the newcomer, Jet Angel, on September 5th in Pensacola, Florida, he will be going into the Ecstasy of Gold tournament with the Cruiserweight Championship around his waist along with a ton of confidence. Will Maze be the first double champion in Ultimate Wrestling history? Fate will decide on September 12th. Chance of winning based on percent: 75% Mr. Marcus Gibbs Title History: Ultimate Wrestling Cruiserweight Champion CSW Cruiserweight Champion Mr. Marcus Gibbs is quickly becoming a guy to watch on the Gulf Coast Wrestling scene. As of this writing, Marcus is in the middle of a very hard hitting feud with X-Factor Champion Carlos D'Angelo. Mr. Marcus was once cheered and loved by the fans of Ultimate Wrestling but has recently drawn a line in the sand with Ultimate Wrestling. Mr. Marcus has said that he had an issue with D'Angelo and did what he had to do. If the fans didn't like it, so be it. Gibbs has also been telling anybody that will listen that he as a "princess" that he's doing it all for. Nobody has any idea what Mr. Marcus has been talking about, but this writer did see some VERY flattering multi-media messages on Marcus' phone. Marcus is very focused and determined to win gold in Milton on September 12th. He has worked well with others before, but in the words of Mr. Marcus himself, he's "edgier and harder...MUCH harder." Chance of winning based on percent: 55% Turbo Ted Title History: OSW Heavyweight Champion XW-2000 Tag Team Champion Turbo Ted is grumpy. Billed as "The Meanest Man in Milton," he's coming the the Ecstasy of Gold tournament with a chip on his shoulder. Known for being exceptionally hard hitting, Ted has proven that he's not the best partner in situations like a Lethal Lottery. This is Ted's first opportunity for gold in Ultimate Wrestling, and the tough veteran isn't going to waste his chance. Everyone knows that Ted hates "new guys." If Ted draws the name of a newer wrestler, will he have the ability to adapt? Can Ted's experience and overall toughness turn into gold on September 12th? We'll see in Milton, Florida at the Ecstasy of Gold Tournament. Chance of winning based on percent: 50% |
